Report on a fluxgate gradiometer survey, conducted to inform proposed residential development on land off Cliff Road, Welton. Traces of medieval ridge and furrow were identified across the site, along with several discrete magnetic anomalies, thought to represent pits of unknown date. A relatively large area of strong magnetic variation of unknown origin was also recorded in the north-western corner of the site. Subsequent trial trenching confirmed the presence of undated pits and ditches towards the southern end of the site, but resolved the stronger magnetic response as modern disturbance (see ELI12383).
