Abstract/Summary
Heritage statement produced to assess the impact of proposed repair works and alterations to Claxby Hall, Claxby St Andrew. Claxby Hall is believed to have been constructed by James Bateman in 1752, as a dower house for Well Vale House. The building has a number of late 18th or early 19th century extensions and 20th century alterations, but was severely damaged by fire in November 2011.
