Abstract/Summary
Archive for the rchaeological watching brief, conducted during groundworks associated with the construction of a new grain storage and drying facility at Ketsby House Farm, Ketsby Lane, Ketsby. Modern demolition and made ground deposits were found to extend throughout the majority of the excavated stanchion pits, overlying soils whose top horizon must have represented the former ground level. Concrete surfaces and layers of likely modern compacted chalk were noted in pits on the southern side of the development, while brick and breeze block footings belonging to recently demolished modern buildings were noted in others. The remains of a single pit of unknown date was the only feature of potential archaeological interest encountered.
