Full Description
The remains of a single pit feature was recorded in this location in March 2009, during archaeological monitoring of groundworks associated with the construction of a new grain storage and drying facility at Ketsby House Farm. The pit was recorded in section only, but was thought to be circular and relatively small in size, measuring roughly 1.2m in diameter. It was cut into a layer of probable ploughsoil and was sealed by modern topsoil. Whilst thought to be of possible recent origin, no dating material was recovered from the feature's fill, and its exact origins and function could not be determined. {1}{2}
