Full Description

Ashby de la Launde war memorial sits within the churchyard of the Church of St hybald. It takes the form of an octagonal, tapered Portland Stone column, standing upon two steps. It is 9ft (3m) high and surmounted by a calvary in the style of a Lincolnshire wayside cross. At the centre of the cross is a bronze crucifix created by Messrs Hart, Son, Peard and Co. of Oxford Street, London. The memorial was constructed by Messrs Richard Skelton and paid for by public subscriptions. It was unveiled in 1919 in order to commemorate those who died in the First World War. {1}
