Full Description

In 1607 to 1608, Sir Thomas Monson's principal residence was at Burton, where he had 'orchards, gardines and scyte of the hall or mannor house' extending to over 6 acres. Garden features include a ha ha. This house must have been recently created, perhaps on an earlier manorial site. {1}{2}{3} The park is recorded on the first and second edition Ordnance Survey maps around Burton Hall, Burton. {4}{5}
