Full Description

During the excavation of a trench and bore-holing in July 2009, large limestone fragments and rubble were found. The limestone fragments may have been part of a former Roman building which was dismantled and reused. {1}{2} A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording of a water pipe in March 2019 encountered at this location a large stone rubble surface, a wall of roughly faced medium to large limestone blocks (possibly oriented east-west) and a further possible stone wall of similar composition. {3}{4}
