Description
A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted on groundworks for a new water pipe at Castle Close, Ancaster. A stone surface, a stone wall, and a probable stone wall were encountered before reaching the desired depth of 80cm below the surface. It was decided to reduce the depth of the water pipe in order to preserve these features in situ. {1}{2}
