Full Description

Grade I listed house, formerly the hall of a larger complex including 13 Eastgate and 18 James Street. It is now the Deanery. It dates from the 13th century and incorporateds a late 12th century doorway. The building was altered in the early 16th century, a floor was inserted and the ground floor was remodelled in the late 17th century, it was raised and reroofed, and the west gable rebuilt in 1810 and further alterations occured in the late 19th and 20th centuries. It is coursed squared stone and brick with ashlar dressings and plain tile and pantile roofs with three brick gable stacks.
