Full Description

A parish church, probably built before the consecration date of 1840 by John C. Carter. It was constructed of red and stock brick and has slate roofs with moulded brick eaves and a nave with south polygonal brick finial springing from pilaster rising against the gable end. For the full description and the legal address of this formerly listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The Church of St Paul is a building of considerable charm and is the last of the six churches commissioned under the Fen Churches Act of 1816. It is currently at risk of structural collapse (2014). {2} Ecclesiastical exemption for the building's demolition was granted on 12 May 2015. The church had been demolished by 9 March 2016, and was subsequently de-listed. {3}{4}
