Summary

Romano British pottery and tile was found in backfill deposits during an archaeological evaluation. An imbrex was found during a subsequent watching brief in September to December 2008.

Full Description

PRN 71047 An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in 2008 during the excavation of three trenches at Lincoln Minster School. Trench One and Trench Two revealed fragments of Roman roof tile and pottery and animal bone. A fragment of Roman hydraulic concrete or mortar, mainly used in flooring and walls was also uncovered. {1}{2} A fragment of imbrex was found in medieval quarry fills, during a subsequent watching brief. {3}{4}
