Full Description

10th century parish church with alterations or additions in the 12th and 17th centuries, repaired 1826, chancel renewed 1826, walls restored 1882. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The church was rebuilt in 1826 and remodelled 1863, and includes some Early English material which may be reused. {2} The bell and font are 13th century. There are records of a request for burial in St Andrew's churchyard in 1415. {3} The pulpit and reading desk are 17th century. {4} This church and its incumbents are discussed by Trollope. {5} Two fragments of a single mid 10th-early 11th century decorated stone grave cover have been re-used in the chancel arch stonework. They were probably set there during the 19th century rebuildings. {6}
