PRN 46560 15th century cross, remodelled as a war memorial in 1918. Limestone ashlar, with two square steps that lead up to a rectangular plinth with chamfered corners and broached stops, inscription and chamfered top edge. Tapering rectangular shaft with broached stops, the lower one and a half meters 15th century, the remainder, including cross head, 20th century. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} In the Churchyard at Firsby is the base (possibly medieval) and shaft (1.3 metres of the original incorporated into the war memorial) of a cross. {2}{3}{4} Firsby war memorial stands in the churchyard of St Andrew's Church to the south of the church. The memorial was erected in 1921 to commemorate those who died in the First World War. It is a twelve feet (three and a half metres) high stone tapering column, rising from two steps and a square plinth supporting a simple cross. {5}
