Full Description

PRN 63933 This record is for the Round House only. For a history of Ashby Hall and its surrounding gardens, see PRN64075 Estate cottage. c1825. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Slate hipped roof with lead ridges on a Single central ashlar stack. Hexagonal plan. Ashlar quoins. 2 storey. South east, entrance front has double glazed doors with a large C20 glazed porch, and above a 2 light sliding sash under a wooden lintel. The east front has a single 3 light ashlar chamfered mullion window, and the south west front has another 3 light ashlar chamfered mullion window, both with Tudor hoods, above a 2 light C20 casement. Built as an estate cottage for Bloxholm Hall.
