Full Description

Methodist Chapel and Sunday School. Built in 1864 by B. Botterill of Hull. Constructed in yellow Farlesthorpe brick with ashlar dressings and slate roofs. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The chapel opened on Good Friday in 1865. It was built on the site of a smaller chapel which had become too small to accommodate all of the Sunday School pupils. The Chapel is a large Gothic building with an inscription from the former chapel; 'Bethwell Pupil 1841'. {2}{3}{4} Additional reference. {5} In 1987 the chapel was sold and converted into a shop. {6}
