Full Description

63039 According to White's Directory of 1882 (page 201), Roman pottery was found during the restoration of St Helen's church in 1873. When C.W.Phillips visited the site in 1930 he noted that the church appeared to have been built on a slight mound. Stukeley suggested that this may be the Roman Station of Bridge. {1}{2}
