Full Description

62842 Romano-British pottery, including Samian, colour coats, greywares and roofing/flue tiles found at this site. {1}{2}{3} In November 1970 a slightly darker area of soil revealed a good scatter of Romano-British pottery and some tile and building material, including stone. Tegula and other tile was noticed in 1967. {4}{5} In April 1978 further Romano-British finds were recovered. These included 40 sherds of grey ware (including three rims and one base), four sherds of colour-coated ware, one mortar rim, three shell-gritted sherds and one sherd of red sandy ware. {5}
