Full Description

PRN 36438 Excavation work carried out as part of the Fenland Management Project recorded a ditch containing briquetage of Roman date, aligned parallel to the Bourne/Morton Roman branch canal (PRN 33259). The relationship of the ditch and the canal could not be determined. Environmental sampling revealed cereal processing waste and possible residues from fuel used in brine evaporation.{1}
