Full Description

[This record includes information from PRN 60814, now deleted.] During an excavation and watching brief, a north to south and an east to west aligned ditch and gully were recorded. These features were thought to be drainage ditches. {1}{2} Various late post-medieval metal finds were recovered from the field surface during an evaluation. These include several coins, 5 rings, 8 buttons, 2 brooches and assorted other metal items. A post medieval gun flint was also recovered. These finds indicate some activity on the site in the 18th-20th century. The nature of this activity is unknown but it may relate to the construction of the adjacent railway track. {3}{4}
