Full Description

A thin scatter of Romano-British pottery was found in this location in the winter of 1990-1. The scatter was noted during a programme of archaeological field walking, conducted to inform the proposed dualling of the A46 road between Newark and Lincoln. The assemblage was comprised of a few abraded sherds of grey ware pottery, including a rim fragment from a straight-sided bead dish, thought to date to the second half of the 2nd century. {1}
