Full Description

St Andrew's church, Church Lane, dates from the twelfth-fourteenth century. The nave was rebuilt in 1792, and the chancel in 1838, and restored in 1887. The west tower is Transitional to Early English with Perpendicular top. It has a Norman piscina, and a cross pattee decorated stone on the exterior, dating to the twelfth to thirteenth century. It is constructed of limestone and slate. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2}{3}{4} The church in Timberland had a subordinate parochial chapel in Martin (St Mary) (62281). {5} Timberland war memorial consists of the church clock and a stone tablet affixed to the west side of Church of St Andrew's tower. The clock sits within a projecting stone surround and has a black face with Roman numerals. The tablet is made of stone and supported on two matching stone brackets. Both were unveiled in 1920. Another tablet was placed there after the Second World War. {6}
