PRN 62266 The church of St Peter and St Paul is mostly Decorated in style. The west bay of the south aisle, which embraced the tower, has been demolished. The north aisle is Perpendicular, although the arcades of both aisles are Decorated and of four bays. The font is Norman and drum-shaped. Restoration by Charles Kirk in 1873.{1} St Peter and St Paul's is built of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, with plain tiled and leaded roofs. The west tower is of three stages, and the south aisle has a doorway to the rood-loft. The north aisle has a piscina, and a piscina, sedilia and an aumbry can be found in the chancel, as can the remains of the 14th century chancel screen. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest.{2} Stained glass in this church, some of which is in situ, dates to the 14th-15th centuries.{3} The ecclesiastical history of the parish since medieval times is discussed by Trollope, along with the architecture and outstanding memorials of the church. He also describes a set of richly carved oak bench ends in the church which depict St George and the Dragon, Adam and Eve with the apple tree and a fox preaching to geese as well as various figures including a king. {5}
