Blankney Park covers an extensive area to the west, south and east of Blankney village. It contained an icehouse, aviary and formal garden remains, including an avenue and enclosure. {1}{2}{3}
Aspects of the garden were designed by James Pulham in 1866, for Henry Chaplin. It may contain features made of 'Pulhamite' artificial stone which was often used to create rockeries and other picturesque features in imitation of natural rock formations. {4}
A walk over the site of Blankney Hall gardens by an historic gardens specialist identified remnants of the Pulham grotto still surviving but very overgrown and without any water in the pond, or small lake. There appears to have been a grotto island in the middle of a man-made pond and with a narrow footbridge across to it. {5}
