Full Description
The construction of RAF North Witham began in 1942, with the base opening in December 1943. The base operated throughout the remainder of the Second World War and until its eventual closure in 1956. {1}{2}
During a site visit to Twyford Woods, concrete runways, earthern banks of bombs stores together with the concrete foundations of other buildings associated with RAF North Witham were recorded. {3}
