Full Description

PRN 35395 During a site visit and watching brief, a green lane or trackway, flanked by ditches and hedgerows, was observed. The lane apparently led from the Lincoln-Grantham road, through Normanton, south of the church and across a small stream. Early maps (1756) indicate that it passed below a bridge beneath the Lincolnshire and Honington Branch railway (see PRN 35393), accessing fields at the edge of the parish. Three probable 19th century horseshoes were recovered from beside the southern ditch of the lane.{1}{2}
