Full Description

Prn 61739 'At Potter Hanworth great quantities of Roman pot of different kinds were found at the site of the Parish School House when foundations were laid.' The pottery referred to may be medieval. The church school was built c.1850. It was reported in the Lincolnshire Echo on 19/4/1910. A dupondius of Marcus Aurelius was also found. {1}{2}{3} Four further sherds of Roman pottery were found during excavations at the school in 2002. The sherds are intrusive rather than stratified. {4}{5}
