Full Description

61509 Nineteen worked flints were recovered during fieldwalking by the Washingborough Archaeology Group in a field adjacent to the southern side of the Witham. {1} 153 trial trenches were excavated on the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. 186 worked flints were recovered from 3 trenches in this field. They were dated between the late Mesolithic and the Bronze Age. {3} {4} During monitoring of trial pits along the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass in August to December 2008, Archaeological Project Services found a Mesolithic/early Neolithic flint. {5}{6}
