A Roman pottery scatter was identified in the field (Field 14) north of Canwick Road, east of Church Hill and west of Pitts Road by the Washingborough Archaeology Group on the 9th and 16th May 1993. 36 sherds were recovered. {1}
A Roman cinerary urn and a narrow-necked bottle of grey coloured terracotta were found in Washingborough, a short distance from where three bronze swords were discovered (61295 - TF 023 709). {2}{3}
