Burials and an area of disturbed human remains were found during excavations at the old Debtor's cemetery. The cemetery was active in the late 18th century.

Full Description
This area of the Castle was used as a debtor's cemetery in the late 18th century.
A watching brief, conducted in 1992-93, uncovered burials connected with the cemetery. Coffin nails and handles, buttons and an iron plaque were found with the skeletons. {1}
Two burials were uncovered in 1997, along with an area of disturbed human remains, during work for a new gas main for Lincoln Crown Court. {2}{3}
