Full Description

60866 Some possible pagan Saxon inhumations have been recorded from this vicinity. They may have been located further west into Shrubwood Close. In the summer of 1995 some skeleton fragments were dug up unexpectedly on two houseplots to the south of Shrubwood Close which were Anglo-Saxon. {1} This may be related to the mound known as Butts Hill, which was levelled in 1815 (see PRN 60325). {2}
