Full Description
[Note: the location of this site is uncertain - the O.S. cards give TF 0913 3595 (area) and TF 0910 3607 whereas the SMR cards give TF 0904 3604.]
Possible moated site, which may represent the former manor house at Hall Close, and fishpond. {1}{4}
Human bones have been found at this site. A single piece of unusual medieval pottery has also been found here. {1}
An O.S. field inspector reported a possible building site with fishpond at TF 0910 3607 and adjacent earthworks representing minor enclosures but no indication of a moated site. {4}
A visitor to the site in 1978 recorded "undulating grass, humps and ridges" in this field, and found medieval pottery in the field directly to the south (PRN 60060). {5}
A further possible fishpond has been identified at TF 0913 3613. {6}
