Full Description

The post-medieval settlement includes a manor house, truncated into the shape of a big vernacular house of 16th to 17th century date. Also 19th century public buildings. Enclosure occurred in 1802-4. {1}{2}{3} A jetton of Hanns Krauwinckel was found in levelling under the stone floor of the timbered house. The reverese was inscribed 'VERBUM DOMINI MANET AETERN'. It is of c.1580-1610, and is in good condition. A gun flint and 18th century pins were also found. {4}
