Full Description

PRN 52706 POSSIBLE UNDATED CROPMARK ENCLOSURES. {1}{2}{3}{4} A geophysical survey was undertaken on approximately 7ha of land immediately south of North Kelsey Road, Caistor. The survey idenitifed a number of linear trends and pit-like anomalies (consistent with the aerial photographic evidence).{5} Trial trenching revealed most of the geophysical anomalies to be of natural geological origin. A series of late Iron Age/Romano-British ditches (see PRN 55334) were discovered, but their relationship to the cropmarks and geophysical anomalies is unclear. {6}{7}
