Full Description
STONEWORK WAS ENCOUNTERED IN THE BED OF THE STREAM HERE DURING DREDGING. ROMANO-BRITISH POTTERY WAS FOUND IN THE UPCAST FROM THE DREDGING OPERATION. IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A FORD ACROSS THE STREAM AT THIS POINT. POSSIBLY ASSOCIATED WITH 50569 (SITE OF ROMAN BUILDING). {1}
ALSO, AT TF 175968, C4 COINS AND HUMAN BONES WERE ALSO RECORDED, AND GREY, GRITTED AND COLOUR-COATED WARES, AND A CREAM FABRIC MORTARIUM. {2}
FOUND IN SAME FIELD AS STONEWORK AND POTTERY. {3}
