POSSIBLE ROMAN FARM SITE, PART IN PLOUGHED FIELD AND PART IN GRASS FIELD ADJOINING. EARTHWORKS TESTED IN GRASS FIELD SHOW WALLS STANDING 18 INCHES HIGH. STONEWORK AND ROMANO-BRITISH POTTERY IN THE STREAM BED IN THE SAME FIELD SUGGEST A FORD ACROSS THE STREAM AND A TRACK LEADING TO THE BUILDINGS. {2} ROMANO-BRITISH FINDS COLLECTED BY D EVERATT 1966-68 OF C2-C4 POTTERY INCLUDING CREAM FABRIC MORTARIA, GREYWARES, GRITTY WARES AND DALES WARE; AN IRON KEY, AND OTHER IRON OBJECTS OF UNCERTAIN DATE; A C3 BRONZE RADIATE; C4 COINS; BONES, AND A DECORATED BONE PLATE POSSIBLY THE END OF A COMB. IN ADDITION TRACES OF A LANE AND 3 RECTANGULAR DITCHED ENCLOSURES WERE VISIBLE AS SOILMARKS. {1}{3}{4} FRAGMENTARY CROPMARKS SHOWING ENCLOSURES AND ASSOCIATED BOUNDARIES, WITH SUGGESTIONS OF FEATURES ALONG THE VALLEY BOTTOM TO THE NORTH. {5}{6} FURTHER FINDS OF PAINTED WALL PLASTER, C4 COINS, AN IRON KNIFE, ROOF AND FLOOR TILES, A BRONZE PIN, IRON NAILS AND COAL WERE FOUND BY D EVERATT IN 1970. {7} POSSIBLY MARKED ON NMP OVERLAY, AND INCLUDED THORESWAY SHRUNKEN VILLAGE REMAINS. {8}, HTM 75M
