Full Description

Remains of two dug-out boats were found in 1966, to the south-east pf Short Ferry ('Stainfield 2 and 3'). The boats were found during the recutting of a drain, close to the present course of the river Witham. The fragments of boat were similar to those of the previously found vessel, found a short distance to the east in 1953. These new vessels were broken up and covered over. {1}{2}{3}
