The remains of the Kettlethorpe churchyard cross consist of three steps, a chamfered base and about 50 inches of rather massive shaft. By 1962 a concrete shaft had been added to the base. {1}{2}{3} An ashlar cross dating from 14th century which underwent restoration in the 19th century. {5} Kettlethorpe war memorial is located in the churchyard of St Peter's and St Paul's Church. Dedicated in 1920, the cross is a fourteenth century churchyard cross restored in 1919. All that remained from the original was a four foot (one metre) section of stone pillar rising from a facetted square base block resting on three stone steps. The existing pillar was extended and surmounted with a gabled crucifixion. The fallen of the First World War are honoured by this memorial. {6}
