Full Description

A church of the Decorated period, restored during the 20th century. The tower is adorned with a band of quatrefoils, and the ribs of its vaulted roof within meet in a boss. An open roof of trussed timbering crowns the nave and chancel, marking their division with a cinquefoiled arch. There is a 15th century font enriched with tracery on the bowl and stem. In the north aisle is the medallion bust of Alice South who died in 1605. Another alabaster tablet is to John Smith, 1591, set in a wall is a 13th century stone with a decorated cross-head. The medieval aisle arcade is still to be found inside the church and assuming that the aisle wall was parallel to the arcade the estimated internal width of the medieval aisle is 4.08m. {5}
