Full Description

The 'High Ferry' signal box at the Boston Road level crossing. The crossing was on part of the Great Northern Railway's, East Lincolnshire Railway line, this part of which opened in October 1848. The box was single-storey, being located on a slight natural rise, and was constructed of red brick with a slate roof. Timber windows, typical of signal boxes of this type, were located in the north-east, south-east and south-west facing walls. Entrance was by a door in the north-eastern side. There was a brick chimney and fireplace in the western corner. The box was extant in 1966, but has since been demolished. {1}{2}
