Full Description

PRN 33173 Group of Romano-British domestic sites. Suggestion of possible outlines of small enclosures on silt levee of watercourse as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Visited Feb 1951. Scatter of Romano-British sherds over NE flank of major road & lesser silt spread northwards. No sherds on light silt on top of roddon. Pottery v little probably 2nd-3rd century (scatter at TF16222449). {1}{2} An extensive area of Romano-British pottery (including Samian, mortaria and amphora) and animal bone with a small amount of burnt stone and tile was seen at TF 1612 2457 during fieldwalking. A dark soilmark was also seen. {3}
