Full Description
Earliest reference to St Clement's Church in Scottegate is 1223. Terrier of St John & St Clement is 1601, and describes the churchyard on the north side of the gate. The exact site is unknown. It is suggested that it was in the garden of the present Barn Hill House. The parish lays one third in and two thirds outside the wall. Possibly separate chantry of St Nicholas.{1}
