According to 1601 terrier the vicarage stood on Scotgate to S of & within St Clements graveyard.By that time it had become a 'barn & a little tenement'. Stukeley described it as 'the corner house near Scotgate, the remains of the poointed windows & his study above, or bedchamber'. {1}
