Full Description
A large park that was some 800 acres (or 324 hectares) in extent. It was enclosed in 1690 by a perimeter wall five miles long. The park is either owned by the National Trust or on Covenant land. {1}
The area to the north, centred on SK 9353 3955, is shown as parkland on the 1824 Ordnance Survey map, but has fallen out of use by the time of the 1905 second edition map. {2}{3}
