Full Description

Small close group of enclosures with associated fields west of Mill Drove, Spalding as cropmarks on APs. Visited in November 1951, abundant scatter C2nd- 4th grey, colour-coated, and calcite-gritted ware was seen over a raised area of very dark occupation soil.{1} Majority of Mrs Hallam's finds are in City and County Museum, Lincoln.{1} HALLAM GIVES THE NGR AS TF 263205. THIS SITE IS SIMILAR TO THAT TO THE NORTH AT 22384, EXCEPT THAT THERE IS A HIGHER PROPORTION OF LATER POTTERY. IT MAY BE PART OF THE SETTLEMENT AND FIELD SYSTEM COMPLEX 23596. {5}{6}
