Full Description

OVER THIS AREA WERE SCATTERS OF VESSEL FRAGMENTS, PIECES OF BAKED CLAY INCLUDING SUPPORTS, BAKED CLAY FLOORING OR LINING, ALL VERY MUCH FRAGMENTED AND SPREAD, ALL PART OF A GENERAL RAISED AREA FROM WHICH LEVELS DROP TO THE SOUTH ANS WEST. THERE WERE A FEW INDETERMINATE (POSSIBLY EARLY C2) SHERDS OF POTTERY. THIS IS ONE OF A COMPLEX OF GROUPS WHICH MUST REPRESENT ONE OF THE EARLIEST TRACEABLE INFLUXES OF SETTLERS ON TO WASH ALLUVIUM. {1}{2}{3}{4} THE PUBLISHED AND INDICATED AREA IS UNDER CROP. NO EVIDENCE OF OCCUPATION. THE MAJORITY OF MRS HALLAM'S FINDS ARE IN THE CITY AND COUNTY MUSEUM,LINCOLN. {1}
