Full Description
A barrow cemetery, presumably dating from the early Bronze Age, was constructed along the axis of the peninsula. There is a recording of the taking down of a tumulus in 1880. It was one of a series which are situated in a line running directly north-east from the abbey to the hill in Anchorage Field (PRN 23230) and south-west from the abbey to Mill Steam Lot. Many finds were recorded from the destroyed barrows and their surroundings. Barrows are relatively common along this part of the fen margin. {1}{2}
