Full Description

William Fydell, wealthy merchant of Boston leased the medieval warehouse building from the Corporation, then purchased it and rebuilt in 1810. Some stone of the old building was used in the new building, but it is mostly brick with a slate roof. At some time in the 19th century its use changed from granary to seed store, and then in the 1970's it became empty for a number of years and has now been converted to flats (in about 1990). It is north of Middle Granary. {1}{2} The warehouse was occupied by Hurst & Sons. It is a six storey red brick building utilising stone from the medieval Gysor's Hall which previously stood on the site. {3}
