A former level crossing keepers cottage, dating from about 1848. Extant in 1966, but was demolished at some point before the Boston to Algarkirk Diversion road was constructed in 1991.

Full Description

A former level crossing keepers cottage at Wash Road. The crossing was on part of the Lincolnshire Loop line, which was constructed by the Great Northern Railway in October 1848. The building was single storey, constructed of yellow brick and featured a slate roof. A yellow brick bedroom extension was added to the southern side before 1903. Protruding windows are to the western side, allowing views down the adjacent railway line. A modern red brick lean-to was added to the southern side of the extension. A red brick toilet was added in the garden at some point after 1903. The building was extant in 1966, but was demolished at some point before the Boston to Algarkirk Diversion road was constructed in 1991. {1}
