Full Description

Holland House is mid 17th century in date, with a first floor band which loops up in segmental arches over the original window position - an artisan mannerist trait. {1} A farmhouse dating from about 1660 which was originally built in Fen Artisan Mannerist style from red brick in an English bond. The building underwent internal alterations in the mid 18th century and alterations to the fenestration in the 19th century. The farmhouse has a pantile roof with two brick coped gables and two brick gable stacks. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {2} Holland House, on Hipper Lane, half a mile west of Wigtoft, was a brick house of two storeys and attic dating from about 1700. It was extended in the early 18th century, with the addition of a rear wing. In the 19th century a lean-to was added. The early house was built with five bays, with two chambers on the first floor and attic space. {3} Holland House was demolished at some point between April 1991 and April 2010. As the building was no longer extant and had therefore lost its special interest, the decision was taken by English Heritage to remove it from the National Heritage List for England. {4}{5}
