Full Description

An 18th century walled garden, formerly associated with Riby Park. The garden is depicted on the 1st Edition 25" Ordnance Survey map as a northwest-southeast aligned rectangular space with long, narrow buildings (probably gardener's sheds) flanking an entrance in the centre of the northwest wall. Further sheds or lean-tos appear to have been added in the 20th century, and the garden appears to have been used intermittently into the 2010s. A condition survey conducted in 2020 found the general condition of the garden wall fabric to be poor with parts of the northwest elevation in need of urgent repairs. The southeastern half of the southwest elevation was demolished in the early 2020s to provide access for a new residential property built within the walled area. {1}{2}{3}
